UK Traveller Considerations
- Post-Brexit EU roaming: UK networks no longer guarantee free EU roaming. Airalo European plans are frequently more cost-effective than roaming add-ons from UK providers.
- Dual SIM capability: Most modern UK flagship phones support physical SIM + eSIM. Budget phones may not — verify before purchasing.
- Currency: Airalo prices in USD. Use a fee-free card to avoid FX charges.
- Carrier unlock: UK network-locked devices require unlocking before accepting a third-party eSIM.
- VAT: Airalo may apply VAT to UK purchases — check your invoice.
- Consumer rights: Purchases are subject to Airalo's terms of service. Disputes should be raised with Airalo first, then via card chargeback if unresolved.
- Emergency calls: Do not rely on an Airalo eSIM for emergency calls. Use your primary UK SIM.
